UNE PHOTOGRAPHE AU SECOURS DES ALBINOS AU CONGO RDC

En République démocratique du Congo, une photographe défend la cause des albinos.
La photographe Patricia Willocq nous livre son témoignage sur les personnes atteintes d’albinisme, en particulier les enfants. Ses photos sont un plaidoyer en faveur des albinos qui dans de nombreuses régions d’Afrique sont stigmatisés par la société, mutilés et tués par les sorciers pour la concoction de gris-gris.
Patricia Willocq est née et a grandi à Kinshasa. Un jour par hasard, elle prend des photos d’une personne albinos qui lui raconte sa vie. Dès lors, elle se mobilise et c’est le début d’une incroyable aventure. Non seulement, elle continue son reportage, mais écrit une lettre au premier ministre de RDC pour lui demander d’instaurer une journée nationale de l’albinisme.
Puis, elle décide  de lancer un événement plus large pour mobiliser l’opinion publique : exposition de photos et concert en février 2014, avec la star malienne albinos Salif Keita.
Le 4 Mars 2014, elle  reçoit l’Award de l’UNICEF qui récompense  « la meilleure photo de l’année  » pour ce travail «  Blanc ébène ».
Au même moment, le conseil des droits de l’homme des Nations Unis adopte deux résolutions pour protéger les Albinos.Sources bibamagazine.fr

Aujourd’hui, son combat continue pour faire évoluer les croyances et favoriser l’accès aux soins et à la prévention ainsi qu’à l’éducation pour ces personnes atteintes d’albinisme qui doivent avant tout protéger leur peau et leurs yeux.
