La fête des ignames en Côte d'Ivoire...The yam festival in Ivory Coast....

La fête des ignames représente la fin d'une récolte vivrière abondante. Dans l'ouest, la fête est en février, dans l'est il y a trois dates, février, septembre, décembre..au nord c'est en juillet et enfin au sud c'est en août.
L'igname est une tubercule riche en protéine. Il existe deux types
-l'igname blanche
- l'igname jaune
L'Afrique de l'ouest produit 96% de la production mondiale dont 8% produit en Côte d'Ivoire.

The yam festival represents the end of an abundant food crop. In the west, the festival is in February, in the east there are three dates in February, September décember.. in the north in July and in the south is finally in August.
